Lawngtlai Traffic Police generally comprises of 8 – 10 men. The main role of traffic duty is regulation of traffic flow, ensuring safety of pedestrian especially during rush hours of traffic, checking vehicles violating rules of the Motor Vehicles Act 1988, inspection of vehicle documents from time to time, escort of VIPs during their visit to the district, etc.
Checking of vehicle documents, checking of drunken drivers, checking of driving without helmet, checking of drivers without driving license, etc..
