On 24th June 2022 (Friday), the “International Day Against Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking 2022 was successfully observed at Government Region Higher Secondary School, New Vengpui Lawngtlai. The programme was organized primarily with the objective to sensitize the youngsters and the school going children the ill impact of drug abuse on the personal front, family and societal life. Various programmes such as power point presentation on topic drugs, speeches, skit show, singing, painting competition among 10 High Schools of Lawngtlai Town under the theme “Say No to Drugs” were held.
The programme was attended by over 300 students from various High Schools of the town, representatives of local leading NGOs, Village Councils as well as teachers of the selected schools.
Further, on 23rd June 2022 (Thursday), pledge taking to stay away from drugs as well as signature campaign under the banner “SAY NO TO DRUGS” was also organized at various High Schools of the town. The overall programme receives excellent response from all the stakeholders.
